Doctor Carlo Melloni, Plastic Surgeon (coordinator of the Gender Team)
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery (Summa cum Laude) he got the degree in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (with honors) at the University of Palermo.
Expert in head and neck reconstructive surgery and breast oncoplastic, he subsequently enriched his reconstructive and cosmetic surgical skills at the best universities around the world (Brazil, Serbia, Spain, France). Now he focused in the field of cosmetic surgery, body contouring and genital surgery.
Among the many skills acquired during his studies, he attended as fellow:

the Department of Anatomy at the University of Bordeaux (France), perfecting his knowledge in the field of morphofunctional nasal surgery,

the Plastic Surgery Unit of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil, acquiring skills in the field of craniofacial surgery and cosmetic body contouring

the Facial Team in Marbella (Spain), acquiring knowledge in the field of facial feminization,

the Belgrade Center for Genital Reconstructive Surgery (Serbia), improving the technique for sex reassignment surgery
He is The Editor-in-Chief of the jornal "Reconstructive Surgery and Anaplastology" and reviwer of several scientific journals.
He is also member of the scientific societies: EADO (European Association of Dermato-Oncology), WPATH (World Professionals Association for Transgender Health) and SICPRE (Società Italiana di Chirurgia Plastica Ricostruttiva ed Estetica).
He was also the founder and first chair of the Association EuRePS (European Residents in Plastic Surgery).
He authored numerous scientific papers in the field of Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Urology. He was the creator of
LUTS-QoL T Test, the first questionnaire specifically designed for the study of lower urinary tract disorders in patients undergoing sex reassignment surgery.
